According to conservativecountry:
The Most Epic Exchange in General Mattis’s “Face The Nation” Appearance.
Some may’ve caught CBS’s Face The Nation with moderator John Dickerson interviewing Defense Secretary General James Mattis. The two covered various national-security points. General Mattis himself offered up thoughts on NATO and the Paris Agreement. Mattis also touched anti-ISIS maneuvers, alluded to the US’s methods of handling Russian problems, and North Korea’s blatant disregard for others when testing missiles.
Mattis said North America’s intolerant of any, negative, North Korean actions—he added that a US-North Korea war would fall under “catastrophic.”
But their conversation hit an appropriately high climax toward the end—only a US general could deliver such heroic words:
JOHN DICKERSON: What keeps you awake at night?
SECRETARY JAMES MATTIS: Nothing. I keep other people awake at night.
It’s that kind of response that’s expected from a defense secretary—an iron-like soldier who doesn’t convey one iota of weakness when an enemy confronts them. Heck, he didn’t get nicknamed “Mad Dog” for simply being in the military.
But don’t take our word for it; unlike most political interviews, just about every word from General Mattis keeps you hanging on…
What do you think about this?
